Principles, Patterns, and Promises!
Day 3 in the upcoming 31 day devo!
Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Words, words, words. It’s no secret that speaking the right words ranks way up on the list of principles. I would even say it’s the main one. There may be others. We know that the Bible doesn’t mince about our words. It matters. So much that life and death are in them. Just this one scripture gives us a comparison that is almost unmatched. The honeycomb is where the bees store their honey. Full of sweetness. Which will refresh our souls. Words are like medicine. Healing hearts. Healing minds. And even healing to our bones. Words are powerful. They can destroy in a matter of minutes. They can bring life in one breath. The words we use on a daily basis will show up in our lives. If we continue to use negative words our life will reflect that. It’s hard not to express patterns in this verse as well. All three of the P’s are in this one verse. We can see the principle, the pattern and the promise. My dear readers God orchestrated the Bible so profoundly. We stand at awe at the wise applications that we use everyday. He doesn’t leave us to wander from day to day. He gave us the Bible.
Prayer
Thank You God for giving us Your Word. Through Your Word we can be aware of principles that build the lives we live. I want wholesome words to flow from my mouth. I want words that edify and not tear down. Through words battles are won or lost. Let my words be encouraging to those that are discouraged. Let them be comfort to those that are grieving. Let them praise You in the midst of the storm. Help me dear Lord to always consider myself when I am speaking to others. To always use pleasant words. I never want to hurt my witness with empty words. I never want to cause others to stumble because I was unwise with something so precious yet powerful. My words oh God are my testimony. Amen.
I love creating these 31 day devotionals. I love the growth that each one brings into my writing journey. I do pray and believe that one day they will be all over the world. I live each day with purpose. I live each day with expectancy. Expecting great things to come my way.
My desire is that each one of my readers lives with great expectancy. Expect nothing but good things from God, even when it doesn't seem good, God is good!
