Psalm 126:1-2
A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
Zion was in captivity. And the Lord set them free. It was like a dream. They were able to laugh again. Singing and rejoicing that the Lord had done great things for them. This scripture is probably referring to when the children of Israel were in Babylon. Remember, they hung their harps on the willow and had no reason to play and sing. Most of us have been in this same place no doubt in the natural and in the spirit. Sometimes we are in captivity through sickness and diseases. Death has been pronounced upon us with very little hope. Financial ruin is just around the corner. Marriages are in trouble. There is no denying that we live in a broken world. I can tell you, none of us are getting out alive. That is why God gave us His Word. With knowledge of the Word and what God intended for His people, we can rise up with a new and refreshed hope that God has made way for our escape. He has given us instructions on how to have faith, even when you can’t see it. His Word is full of instructions on how to see with your heart and believe in your dreams, no matter how bleak things may seem or even feel as we go from day to day in this journey called life.
