Proverbs 11:24-25
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Scattereth, increaseth, and poverty is a choice. If we scattereth, give of our substance we can increase. Yet if we withhold we can bring poverty into our lives. I love verse 25. The liberal soul shall be made fat. Liberal meaning supporting. When we support others rather in finance or the spirit we are scattering. Sowing good seeds will bring a great harvest. When we speak a word in due season we are watering a dry vessel. In return we will be watered. We will be fed. We will be made fat. The fatter we get in the lord the more we can scatter and water others. In verse 24 it teaches us that when we withhold mainly because of greed we will keep finding poverty. Let’s scatter some kindness and water a thirsty soul today that we can in return be made fat.
Prayer
God all that I have I have because of You. Help me to follow Your Word that gives me an antidote for staying fat in You. I want to sow into other people's lives. I don’t want to withhold from others. I know that You have blessed me with whatever I have. Who am I not to help others? You teach us how to be fruitful, fat, and flourishing. These three actions are some of the main ones that You expect to come from me. As I close the prayer in part two of how to be fat, let me be exactly that. Amen.
